Cheech & Chong Are Back In The Spotlight

Take it from Cheech Marin, of “Cheech and Chong” fame, “[Pot’s] going to be legal. I think it’s going to be legal on a nationwide basis within three years. It’s the number one cash crop in the world. It’s like outlawing wheat. Come on.” On a recent press tour, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong have been showing off their medicinal marijuana cards promoting their new film, “Hey Watch This.”

The film, being released in theaters, DVD, Blu Ray and Video on Demand all at the same time, will be released on April 20 (that’s 4/20). About celebrating, Chong said, “With me, it’s usually 4/21 because I always forget it’s 4/20.” “They go, ‘Well, it was 4/20.’ Oh, really? Okay, well, let’s celebrate. It’s never too late.”

“I’ve got my [medical marijuana] card,” Chong bragged. “Jack Herrera, he wrote The Emperor Wears No Clothes, the first marijuana book out. “Him and I, when they changed the law the first time around here, there were no cards or anything so we designed our own card. It was a letter and then we had it shrunk into cards.” “I went into a club to get some pot and they said, ‘Do you have a card?’ I showed them that. They looked at it and said, ‘Oh, it’s outdated.’ Well, there were no rules. So they phoned the doctor and Eidelman says, ‘Oh yeah, come in and I’ll update your card.’ Yeah, come in and get more money. Yeah, that’s the first card so we do have our medical cards.”

Intensely passionate about the legalization of marijuana, Cheech and Chong are following the debate closely. However, they aren’t uninformed, “You know they’re going to appeal that,” Chong added. “They’re going to pull all that crap. The thing is, if we get even a close vote one way or the other, it’s just going to push the Obama regime into rescheduling it because that really is the answer to legalization. Reschedule the drug to Schedule 2 so it’s available by prescription only.”

Schedule 2 is the highest level of caution with regards to prescription drugs and would make it quite difficult to access but still illegal to possess without prescription. And the two of them aren’t opposed to the idea of rescheduling marijuana because they aren’t opposed to responsible pot use. “Any kind of legalization is going to come with rules,” Cheech admits.

“I love the argument that it’s a lot stronger now than it was before,” Chong said. “Well, that means you smoke less. Done. And, if you don’t and you do indulge, you pay for it. You find yourself throwing up.”

Po... Não se pode mais ter ídolos hoje em dia... As figuras públicas sempre ficam em cima do muro, tá lançando filme novo, sabe como é... Tem que fazer a média com os "caretas alternativos" que só apoiam o uso medicinal e simplesmente ignoram milhares de anos de cultura e usufruto.

ninguém diz quanto litros de alcool você pode beber por dia, nem deve... se o Estado deve regular alguma coisa, por que existe, é a venda restrita a menores de 18 anos (restrita porque existem menores de 18 anos com câncer!).
